TB-500 Dosing Protocol: Loading and Maintenance Phases Explained

Last updated: February 16, 2026

TB-500 (Thymosin Beta-4 fragment) is a tissue repair peptide commonly used in research protocols for wound healing, flexibility, and inflammation reduction. Unlike many peptides that use a flat dosing schedule, TB-500 protocols are typically split into two distinct phases with different dosing amounts.

The Two-Phase Protocol

Loading Phase (Weeks 1-4 to 1-6)

The loading phase uses a higher dose to build up levels in tissue:

  • Typical dose: 2mg to 2.5mg per injection
  • Frequency: 2x per week
  • Duration: 4 to 6 weeks
  • Weekly total: 4mg to 5mg

Maintenance Phase (Ongoing)

After loading, the dose is reduced to maintain tissue levels:

  • Typical dose: 2mg to 2.5mg per injection
  • Frequency: 1x per week (or every 2 weeks)
  • Duration: Varies by protocol
  • Weekly total: 2mg to 2.5mg (or less)

Calculating Your Doses

TB-500 is typically sold in 5mg vials. Here is how to calculate for a common protocol of 2.5mg twice weekly during loading:

Reconstitution

For a 5mg vial with 1mL of bacteriostatic water:

  • Concentration = 5,000mcg per mL
  • Per syringe unit = 50mcg
  • For a 2.5mg (2,500mcg) dose = 50 units on the syringe

This means each 5mg vial gives you exactly 2 doses of 2.5mg during loading.

With 2mL of Water

If you prefer a more dilute solution:

  • Concentration = 2,500mcg per mL
  • Per syringe unit = 25mcg
  • For a 2.5mg dose = 100 units (a full 1mL syringe)

With 2mL of water, each vial still gives 2 doses, but you will inject 1mL per dose instead of 0.5mL.

Vial Planning

Knowing how many vials you need for a full protocol helps with planning:

TB-500 + BPC-157 Stacking

TB-500 is frequently paired with BPC-157 in healing protocols. The two peptides work through different mechanisms — TB-500 promotes cell migration and blood vessel formation, while BPC-157 accelerates tissue-specific repair. They are dosed independently and can be injected at different sites or at the same time.

When stacking, calculate each peptide separately. Do not mix them in the same vial — reconstitute and draw from each vial individually.

Use our TB-500 calculator to get exact unit measurements for your specific vial and water volume, or the BPC-157 calculator if running both.
